Priyadarshini Ghosh [Shome]
Priyadarshini Ghosh is an accomplished Indian classical and contemporary dancer, choreographer, and a dance scholar.
Academic :
MFA (Master of Fine Arts, Dance), Kalidas Sanskrit University, Ramtek, Nagpur;  Fellowship for research work coalescing yoga and dance, from the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India; completed May 2010. She has received the NehruFulbright Fellowship 2015-16, teaching at the Brown University, Theatre Arts and Performance Studies as a visiting faculty. She is an A grade television artist.

Initiated into dancing as a toddler at the Children’s Little Theatre, Kolkata, Priyadarshini Ghosh has
learnt the classical dance styles of Bharatha Natyam and Mohini Attam with some basic training in Kathakali. Her formal ‘Rangapravesh’ has been in both Bharatha Natyam and Mohini Attam under the tutelage of Smt. Thankamani Kutty of Kalamandalam, Calcutta.

However, it is in the dance style of Mohini Attam she found her reckoning and she honed her art under the doyen of Mohini Attam, Kalamandalam Kalyani Kutty Amma in Tripunithura, Kerala

Priyadarshini is a disciple of the legendary Guru Padmabhushan Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan, with intensive training in Abhinaya for the past many years.She has also trained in Seraikella Chhau, under Shri Shashadhar Acharya in New Delhi. Priyadarshini is a trained yoga exponent with a teaching certificate.

She is a diploma holder in Performing Arts from the Children’s Little Theatre (CLT), Kolkata; Priyadarshini has also been awarded the ‘Sringar Mani’ from Sur Singar Samsad, Mumbai.

Priyadarshini has been an International Choreographer in Residence at the American Dance Festival at the Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, in 2003.

She is an empanelled artiste of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and has been featured on CNN International - Inside Asia.

She has expanded her horizons from a solo Mohini Attam performer to contemporary dance, using the basics of Indian dance traditions, techniques of Indian martial arts and some tenets of Yoga. She amalgamates these with her cross training in some Modern Dance techniques, especially Improvisation and Contact Improvisation; to explore new dance movements; to form a genre which is contemporary in outlook - dealing with issues relevant in today’s world.

Apart from choreographing with Indian Dancers, she has also collaborated with Modern dancers juxtaposing and integrating Indian dance with modern dance. She has choreographed for the National University of Singapore Dance Ensemble; and been a part time and guest teacher at The Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts and Lassalle Sia College for Performing Arts, Singapore – Dance and Drama depts.

Currently she is researching the mindful and contemplative aspects of performance, a system of Yoga, evaluating Kudiyattam and Mohiniyattam, with Rajaneesh Chakyar and Guru Nirmala Panikkar. Her work has been presented as lectures, seminars, workshops, and in journals around the world.

She performs and lectures actively in many prestigious venues and festivals both as a soloist and also with repertory, Natyanova, jointly directed by Priyadarshini and Mohana.

Mohana Iyer
Mohana Iyer is an accomplished stage artiste, choreographer and trainer in Indian Classical dance forms of Bharatanatyam, Kathakali and Mohini Attam for over 25 years.
Besides being a postgraduate in Geology from Calcutta University, she has done her Masters in Fine Arts from Kavi Kulguru Kalidas Universlty under the guidance of Dr. Sandhya Purecha.
As a Shisya
She was under the tutelage of Guru Thankamani Kutty for Bharatha Natyam and Mohini Attam,under Late Guru Kalamandalam Govindan Kutty for Kathakali. She is also trained in Abhinaya under Padma Bhushan Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan. She has started working with Kerala Sopanam music under the guidance of Padmabhushan Shri Kavalam Narayana Panickkar.
As a Teacher
At present she is a Bharatha Natyam teacher at Bengal Music College; Mohini Attam and Kathakali teacher at Natyanova Performing Arts Centre and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Kolkata. When she was deputed from Kalamandalam Kolkata to the UK during 1987-88 as a dance teacher, she was also a visiting lecturer of dance at the University of Warwick. Her training in Yoga has also being an added tool to mark the perfection in every dance style that she executes. She has been an accepted and revered teacher for Bharatanatyam for Rasika Ranjana Sabha, Kolkata. She is also the Visiting Examiner for Rabindra Bharati University and J.N. Children’s Museum Scholarship Examination. She also
heads the dance section of Saptaparni, Shamayita Math, Bankura in association with Priyadarshini Ghosh.
As a performer
Her performances and choreographies in Bharatha Natyam, Mohini Attam and Kathakali have received critical acclaim. As a choreographer, her innate ability to do detailed research and generate the fusion of lyrics with dance and train the students to perfection has made her and her students receive rave reviews for their performances both in Kolkata and in England. She has also performed for Doordarshan Kolkata. She received first position in Kathakali in the State level competition organized by West Bengal Rajya Sangeet Academy in 1987.
As a Nattuvannar
Being a proficiently trained classical singer in Carnatic Music, she has been widely appreciated as a Nattuvanar and has accompanied leading artistes in Festivals like Spirit of Unity Concert, Bangalore; Nishagandhi Festival, Trivandrum; IIC Delhi, Dover Lane Music Conference, Calcutta, Bihar School of Yoga, Munghyr.
As an Associate Director
Currently she is working towards establishing Natyanova Performing Arts Centre.
In her present position as an Associate Director of Natyanova she is working with the classical dances and improvisations and has ably assisted in the productions of Hiranygarbha, (Based on the Chakras) Usha (Rg Veda), Amar Mukti Aloye Aloye (writings of Tagore) as well as Ardhanarishwar – the Equilibrium.

She accompanied Priyadarshini Ghosh as an associate director in her tour of Eastern European countries of Bosnia, Slovenia, Romania and Slovakia, under the aegis of ICCR in Feb, 2011.

Co-choreographer and director of Tagore Production, Amar Mukti Aloye Aloye for Tejas Foundation, Mumbai under the Tagore Commemoration grant of Ministry of Culture, Govt of India and Sishu for Maharashtra State Academy.
